Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (Read in the name of your Lord who created)]

Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
Recite in the name of your Lord who created -
[Al-Alaq: 1] There is a discussion regarding the Basmala that was previously mentioned, but there is no harm in repeating it. The question is: Is the Basmala a verse of the surah that follows it, or is it an independent verse? The correct view: It is an independent verse and not part of the surah that follows it. It is not part of Al-Fatihah, nor Al-Baqarah, nor Al-Imran, but rather it is an independent verse. For this reason, if a person recites Al-Fatihah in prayer without the Basmala, his prayer is valid, because the Basmala is not part of it. However, the Basmala was not written in Surah Al-Bara'ah (At-Tawbah) because the Basmala was not revealed between it and Surah Al-Anfal. But the Companions were confused when they compiled the Qur'an, so they made a separator between Surah Al-Anfal and Surah Al-Bara'ah and did not write the Basmala.

Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
(1) Recite in the name of your Lord who created - (2) Created man from a clinging substance. (3) Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - (4) Who taught by the pen - (5) Taught man that which he knew not.
[Al-Alaq: 1-5] These verses are the first of the Qur'an to be revealed to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). They were revealed to him while he was worshipping in the Cave of Hira. The first thing the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was initiated with regarding revelation was that he would see visions in his sleep that came like the break of dawn.Meaning: Events would occur that confirmed these visions. The first time he saw these visions was in the month of Rabi' al-Awwal. He remained for six months seeing such visions, and they would come like the break of dawn. In Ramadan, the revelation that occurs in a state of wakefulness descended. The period between Rabi' al-Awwal and Ramadan is six months. The duration of the revelation was twenty-three years. And for this reason it came in the hadith: (A good vision is a part of the forty-six parts of prophethood).
When he was seeing these visions that came like the break of dawn, seclusion was made attractive to him.Meaning: He wanted to be alone with himself and distance himself from this Jahili (pre-Islamic) society. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) considered that the best place for him to seclude himself was this cave in Mount Hira. It is a cave at the peak of the mountain, and a strong man can hardly climb up to it without difficulty. So, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would climb up and seclude himself, worshipping Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in what Allah had opened for him in this cave for nights of a number.Meaning: Several nights. He would take provisions with him, stocking up on food and drink. Then he would descend and stock up on the same from his family, and return to seclude himself with Allah (Mighty and Majestic), until the revelation descended upon him while he was in this cave.
Jibril came to him and ordered him to read.So he said: I am not a reader.Meaning: I am not a reader.Meaning: I am not one of those who read. The intention is not disobedience to Jibril's command, but rather that he is unable to do so; he is not one of those who read, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was unlettered. As Allah the Exalted said:
So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet
[Al-A'raf: 158] And Allah said:
It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves
[Al-Jumu'ah: 2] So he did not read or write. This is part of the wisdom of Allah that he did not read or write, so that his need and necessity for this message would become clear, and so that no doubt would remain for any doubter regarding his truthfulness. And Allah pointed to this in His saying:
And you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe one with your right hand. Otherwise the falsifiers would have had [cause for] doubt.
[Al-Ankabut: 48].

He said to him: I am not a reader. So he covered him twice or three times. Then He said to him:
(1) Recite in the name of your Lord who created - (2) Created man from a clinging substance. (3) Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - (4) Who taught by the pen - (5) Taught man that which he knew not.
[Al-Alaq: 1-5] Five verses were revealed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned with them, his heart trembling with fear and panic, until he came to Khadijah.
The hadith of the revelation and its trial is found at the beginning of Sahih al-Bukhari. So whoever wishes to refer to it, let him refer to it.

Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says:
Recite in the name of your Lord who created -
[Al-Alaq: 1] His saying: (In the name of your Lord) It is said that its meaning is: being adorned with it,And it was said: seeking help through it.Meaning: Read seeking help by the name of Allah; for the names of Allah the Exalted are all good, all a source of help by which a person seeks assistance. Therefore, a person seeks assistance by them in his ablution, in his eating, and in his intercourse. They are all a source of help. (In the name of your Lord who created) to the end. And He said:
In the name of your Lord
[Al-Alaq: 1] without saying: In the name of Allah; because the occasion is one of Lordship, management, and planning of affairs, and the beginning of the message. Therefore he said: (In the name of your Lord) is an indication that Allah the Exalted raised him (peace and blessings be upon him) with a special upbringing.

Allah the Exalted said:
Who created
[Al-Alaq: 1] He created every thing. As Allah the Exalted said:
and has created each thing and determined it with [precise] determination.
[Al-Furqan: 2] And Allah the Exalted said:
Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is, over all things, Disposer of affairs.
[Az-Zumar: 62] So there is nothing in the heavens or on earth, whether hidden or apparent, small or large, but it is created by Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And for this he said: (Created) and the omission of the object is an indication of generality; for the omission of the object implies generality, since if the object were mentioned, the action would be restricted to it.Meaning: If He had said: He created such-and-such, the creation would be restricted to what was mentioned only. But if he says: (Created) and it was left general, so it is general. He is the Creator of every thing, (Exalted and Majestic is He).

Then he said:
Created man from a clinging substance.
[Al-Alaq: 2] So He specified and singled out. He created man as an honor for man and an elevation of his status;Because Allah the Exalted says:
And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference.
[Al-Isra: 70] Therefore, He specified the creation of man.
