Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And Allah created you and what you do)]
The honorable Shaykh says: Allah the Exalted says: [Surat al-Saffat: 96] Are the actions of the people, whether bad or good, created? May Allah bless you.
Allah the Exalted said: [Surat al-Saffat: 96] There are two opinions among the scholars regarding this: one is that (ma) is a verbal noun,And the meaning is: He created you and He created your actions,And upon this your question proceeds: Is the action of a man created or not? The answer is that it is created by Allah, without doubt. Your action is among your attributes, is it not? The action of a man is among his attributes: movements, stillness, going, coming; these are among his attributes. And the man himself is created, and the attributes of the created are created because they follow him. So Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) created you, and your actions are among your attributes; so your attributes are created by Allah, just as your self is created by Allah.
The second aspect or the second opinion regarding the verse: That (ma) here is a declined noun,Meaning: He created you and He created what you do. And what do they do? Idols that they carve,As in the verse before it: [Surat al-Saffat: 95-96] Meaning: and what you do, which are these idols that they carve with their own hands. If these idols are created, how can it be correct for them to be worshipped?
The honorable Shaykh says: Allah the Exalted says:
While Allah created you and that which you do?"
