The Onset of the Times of the Prayers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Is the onset of the times of the prayers determined by the adhan? The Shaykh: It is not determined by the adhan.

The questioner: The mu'adhdhins are on time.

The Shaykh: They may call the adhan on time, or they may be delayed, such as if one sleeps and is delayed by a quarter of an hour, or they may be early by a quarter of an hour, or they may be mistaken about the speed, and the adhan is, for example, at twelve, so they think it is twelve when it is eleven, and we have heard from one who called the adhan, and during the adhan we heard people telling him over the microphone: There is still an hour left, while he is calling the adhan.

The questioner: Generally, O Shaykh, when do women delay the prayer? When does it become forbidden for women to delay it?The Shaykh: The times of the prayer, praise be to Allah, are wide. The time for the midday prayer is from the onset of the time for the midday prayer to the onset of the time for the afternoon prayer. The time for the afternoon prayer is from the onset of the time to the yellowing of the sun, and in dire necessity until sunset. The time for the sunset prayer is from the setting of the sun to the onset of the time for the night prayer. The time for the night prayer is from the disappearance of the red twilight to the middle of the night. The time for the dawn prayer is from the appearance of the dawn to the rising of the sun.
