Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (So let him call his assembly)

Allah the Exalted said:
(17) Then let him call his associates; (18) We will call the angels of Hell.
[Al-Alaq: 17-18] The lam here is for the purpose of challenge,Meaning: if he is truthful and possesses strength and power, let him call his assembly. And (al-Nadi) is the gathering of the people for conversation, communication, and mutual understanding, seeking each other's company. Abu Jahl was highly esteemed among the Quraysh, and he had an assembly where people gathered to him, discussing their affairs. Here Allah Mighty and Majestic says: If he is truthful, (so let him call his assembly) This is undoubtedly a challenge, just as you say to your enemy: if you have people, then come forward, and similar words indicating a challenge.Allah the Exalted said:
We will call the Zabaniyah
[Al-Alaq: 18] Meaning: We have those who are greater than this man's assembly, and they are the Zabaniyah; the angels of the Fire -we ask Allah for safety-And Allah described the angels of the Fire as:
Rough and severe
[At-Tahrim: 6] Rough in temperament and severe in strength:
they do not disobey Allah in what He commands themلا يَعْصُونَ اللَّهَ مَا أَمَرَهُمْ
[At-Tahrim: 6] Rather, they obey everything Allah commands them to do:
and they do what they are commanded.
[At-Tahrim: 6] They are not incapable of doing so,So He described them with two descriptions: They are in complete submission to Allah Mighty and Majestic:
they do not disobey Allah in what He commands themلا يَعْصُونَ اللَّهَ مَا أَمَرَهُمْ
[At-Tahrim: 6] And they are in complete capability:
and they do what they are commanded.
[At-Tahrim: 6] .
And not obeying the command of Allah Mighty and Majestic is either due to incapacity or due to disobedience. For example: The one who does not pray the obligatory prayer standing may be doing so due to incapacity, or due to stubbornness. He does not carry out the command of Allah, but the angels over the Fire do not have incapacity; they have strength and power, and they do not have arrogance regarding the command. Rather, they have complete humility and submission. These Zabaniyah cannot be matched by this man, his people, and his assembly, ever. And for this he said:
We will call the Zabaniyah
[Al-Alaq: 18] If someone asks: Where is the waw in the word "Nad'u" (We call)? We said: It is omitted due to the meeting of two static letters, because the waw is static and the hamzat al-wasl is static. When two static letters meet, if the letter is sound (sahih), it is broken (kasrah); if it is not sound, it is deleted.

Ibn Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said in the Alfiyyah:
If two static letters meet, break what precedes, and if it is soft, its deletion is deserved.
When two static letters meet and the first letter is sound, not one of the letters of weakness (huruf al-illal), it is broken.Such as the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Those who disbelieved
[Al-Bayyinah: 1] And its original form is (lam yakun) because (lam) when it enters a verb, it makes it jussive (jazm),As in the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Nor is there to Him any equivalent."وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُواً أَحَدٌ
[Al-Ikhlas: 4] But here two static letters met and the first was a sound letter, so it was broken. As for when the first is a soft letter -Meaning: A letter from the letters of weakness - it is deleted, as in this verse
We will call the Zabaniyah
[Al-Alaq: 18] .
