Urging the avoidance of places of suspicion

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
There is a committed young man who plays with the children and youth of the neighborhood, and his brothers advise him that this is not befitting for him, because he is a man who holds fast to the religion,And they say: and they are sinners, because they utter ugly words, and some of them may even reach the point of abandoning prayer, though not entirely. So I do not know whether it is permissible for him to play with them or not?

First: A person must avoid places of suspicion. The fact that this man associates with boys and young men keeps him in a state of suspicion in the eyes of people, so he must distance himself from this. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about himself, while his wife was with him: Safiyyah bint Huyayy. This was because he (peace and blessings be upon him) was in i'tikaf (spiritual retreat in the mosque), and his wife Safiyyah came to him and spoke with him for a while. Then she stood up to go to her place, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) got up and walked with her. Two men from the Ansar passed by, and they hurried their pace when they saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with his wife, out of shyness and modesty,So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (he said to them: "Go slowly, for she is Safiyyah bint Huyayy." They said: "Glory be to Allah!Meaning: We do not think anything of it.So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Satan flows through the son of Adam as blood flows, and I feared that he might cast evil into your hearts, or he said: something") even though the matter is further from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) being a target for what is not befitting him (peace and blessings be upon him) than the distance between the sky and the earth. So how about others?
So my advice to this committed brother is to avoid places of suspicion so that his honor is safe and his religion is safe. Also, I am afraid that Satan might cast evil into his heart due to his frequent association with these boys and his companionship with them.
Yes, if we suppose that once in a while—for example—he jokes with one of them, there is nothing wrong with that, provided the heart is sound. The Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to be gentle with the boys and joke with them. There is his story with the boy who had a small bird called al-Naghir. This bird was with this boy, and he was happy with it and played with it. Then the bird died, and the boy grieved for it. So the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to say to this boy: (O Abu 'Amir! What happened to al-Naghir?)

As for their association, meaning: Regarding associating with boys and young men, I advise him to leave it so that his honor is safe and his religion is safe. Even from the perspective of da'wah (calling others to Islam), he should not associate with them in seclusion. But he can come to them and call them, and have other people with him so that he is not alone with them.
