The Ruling on the 'Aqiqah and Giving a Gift to a Disbeliever

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! It would be delightful if you would share with us some of the rulings regarding the 'Aqiqah: its naming, its timing, whether the wealthy are given from it, whether it is permissible to give to a disbeliever from it, and whether it is better to distribute it or hold a wedding feast?
The 'Aqiqah is a confirmed recommended practice (sunnah mu'akkadah). For a boy, two sheep are slaughtered, and for a girl, one sheep. It is slaughtered on the seventh day, and one eats from it, distributes it to the wealthy as a gift, and to the poor as charity.

The questioner: Is it permissible to give it to a disbeliever? The Shaykh: One gives charity from it to a disbeliever if no harm comes to the Muslims from him, neither from him nor from his people.because of His saying, the Exalted:
Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward themلا يَنْهَاكُمُ اللَّهُ عَنِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ وَلَمْ يُخْرِجُوكُمْ مِنْ دِيَارِكُمْ أَنْ تَبَرُّوهُمْ وَتُقْسِطُوا إِلَيْهِمْ
[Al-Mumtahanah: 8] That is: Allah does not forbid you from being kind to them.Be kind to them, that is: Give them charity. There is no obstacle to being kind to them and being just toward them. Kindness is doing good,And justice is fairness:
Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِينَ
[Al-Mumtahanah: 8] .
