Ruling on a man entering the mosque with sheep dung on his foot
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! A man enters the mosque with sheep dung on his foot, so what is the ruling?
I will give you a rule—may Allah reward you—everything whose meat is eaten, its dung and urine are pure. The dung of sheep is pure, and that of cattle is pure, and that of chickens is pure, and the dung of camels is pure. However, the prohibition of praying in the grazing grounds of camels is not because of impurity, but because the grazing grounds of camels are usually a refuge for Shaytan; for camels have a bad, rough nature. This is why you find that camel herders have roughness and harshness, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Roughness and harshness are in the herders of camels) He also said: (Calmness and dignity are in the herders of sheep) The shepherd of sheep is calm and quiet, and he has composure, unlike the owner of camels. The owner of camels is found with his head held high, arrogant, as if he is above people. This is something observed. For this reason, Allah chose for the prophets to herd sheep: (No prophet was sent who did not herd sheep) .
