The Place of the Soul After Death, and the Ruling on the Insane in the Hereafter
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! As for a person when he dies, where is his soul? And what does Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, do with the insane?
As for the people of Paradise, their souls will be in Paradise, and they are the believers. As for the people of the Fire, their souls will be in the Fire, as that came in the hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
As for the insane, if their people are believers, their father or mother, then he is among the believers; because the ruling on the insane and children is the ruling of their parents. The child of believers is from the believers, and the child of disbelievers is not from the believers in the rulings of this world. As for the Hereafter, the correct view is that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will test them with whatever He wills of obligation. So whoever obeys enters Paradise, and whoever disobeys enters the Fire.
The questioner: And the hadith—O Shaykh—(that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the children around Ibrahim (peace be upon him), so the Companions asked him, saying: And what about the children of the polytheists?
He said: And the children of the polytheists).
The Shaykh: No, they are not the children of the polytheists; because the correct view regarding the children of the polytheists is what the Messenger said: (Allah knows best what they were doing).
