Expiation for accidental killing

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: First: Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings. We testify to Allah that you love Him.

And I have a question: A woman owes an expiation for accidental killing, such as fasting two consecutive months. She fasted one month, then her menstruation came. What is the ruling?

First: May Allah bless you! I ask Allah the Exalted to love you as you have loved me in Him.

Second: Greeting with peace when asking a question has no basis; because we have all been sitting together for a time, this is why the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) would ask the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in the gathering without greeting him. But some people have made it a habit, and I do not know of any basis for it.
And your question requires us to look at how the killing occurred; because some people may think that this killing necessitates an expiation, and that is not the case. And so we ask this woman, perhaps she says: She slept at her daughter's or her little girl's place, then she got up and found the child dead. Then Satan says to her: You are the one who killed her, and this is not correct. So we must ask: Was she the cause of her death or not? And if we assume that we have reached the point where she is the cause of her death, then she owes the expiation, and her responsible kin owe the blood money. The expiation, as we know or as many of us know, is freeing a slave. If she does not find one, then fasting two consecutive months. The consecutiveness is not broken if the woman breaks her fast for menstruation; because this is a breaking of the fast that is necessary. The consecutiveness is also not broken if she breaks her fast for travel, and the consecutiveness is not broken if she becomes ill and fasting is difficult for her.And here we say the rule: That what is obligatory for him to fast consecutively, if he breaks it for a valid religious excuse, the consecutiveness is not broken. So when the excuse is removed, he completes the fasting and it is not obligatory for him to start over from the beginning.

The questioner: And the days of the festival, O Shaykh? The Shaykh: The days of the festival do not break the consecutiveness.Meaning: The day of the festival in Ramadan and the day of the festival of al-Adha and three days of the days of Tashriq, four days, do not break the consecutiveness.
