Allah the Exalted said:

On that Day

يَوْمَئِذٍ

[Surah al-Zalzalah: 6] means: the Day the earth will be shaken with its shaking

the people will depart separated [into categories]

يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ أَشْتَاتاً

[Surah al-Zalzalah: 6] that is, scattered groups, each heading toward its destination. So the people of Paradise, may Allah make us and you among them, will head toward it, and the people of the Fire, may Allah protect us from it, will be driven toward it

⁽⁸⁵⁾ On the Day We will gather the righteous to the Most Merciful as a delegation ⁽⁸⁶⁾ And will drive the criminals to Hell in thirst ⁽⁸⁷⁾ None will have [power of] intercession except he who had taken from the Most Merciful a covenant.

يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ الْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَى الرَّحْمَنِ وَفْداً * وَنَسُوقُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ إِلَى جَهَنَّمَ وِرْداً * لا يَمْلِكُونَ الشَّفَاعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ اتَّخَذَ عِنْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ عَهْداً

[Surah Maryam: 85-87] Thus, people will emerge in groups and bands, in distinct categories that differ greatly, as Allah the Exalted said:

Look how We have favored [in provision] some of them over others. But the Hereafter is greater in degrees [of difference] and greater in distinction.

انْظُرْ كَيْفَ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ وَلَلْآخِرَةُ أَكْبَرُ دَرَجَاتٍ وَأَكْبَرُ تَفْضِيلاً

[Surah al-Isra: 21] .
