Advice for those who remove the da'wah papers posted in the mosques
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! What is your guidance for those who remove the fatwas of the scholars that are pasted on the doors of mosques and in public places, as well as those who remove the announcements of the lectures delivered by some of the scholars and students of knowledge, and the announcements of the scientific courses? And I will give an example of that, which is: One of the brothers distributed what was issued by your father, the Shaykh 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Baz, and what was issued by you, may Allah preserve you, regarding the danger of the spread of the pamphlets coming from London. He distributed them in one of the mosques, so some people pulled them down. He put them up twice, then three times, and they were pulled down. When he asked who was doing this?He said: They said, "This stirs up fitnah among the people." So what is your guidance, may Allah preserve you, the Exalted?
Our guidance is that if this man is doing what he does out of hatred for the truth, then he is in great danger; because hatred for the truth is one of the nullifiers of Islam. But if he is doing it out of hatred for the person who is upholding the truth, regardless of what that person is doing, then this is less severe than the first case, and it is not considered under the first ruling. However, he is sinful and transgressing against his brother, in that he prevented the spread of his knowledge and tore up the means of its spread.
And as for his claim: That the fatwa regarding the danger of the pamphlets coming from London stirs up fitnah, so I do not think he is sincere.Meaning: He said this, and I do not think he is sincere in it; because he knows that all the fitnah lies in the spread of these pamphlets, and tearing them up and burning them is the cause for extinguishing the fitnah. And no one is tempted by them and wants them to spread except that he is one of the heads of the fitnah, may Allah protect us.
So my advice to these people is: That they should fear Allah, Mighty and Majestic, in themselves and in their calm, quiet, and peaceful community, and that they should not accept such pamphlets that stir up hatred, enmity, and dislike for the scholars and the rulers, and that necessitate the split and division between the subjects and the ruler; because this is one of the causes of fitnah, and whoever follows the history will find that the first of fitnah is speech and the last of it is arrows.
So my advice to these people is: That they should fear Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and that they should be among the callers to the truth, and lovers of good for the ummah. But we are confident, by the permission of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, that these people will not succeed. Every one who is oppressive, he will not succeed, by the saying of Allah, the Exalted: [Al-An'am: 21] ,And by the saying of Allah, the Exalted: [Yunus: 81] .
And there is no doubt that the pamphlets coming from London, as the brother questioner said, according to what we know: They are corruption, and a cause of fitnah, and that destroying them is what brings about the removal of the fitnah. And I advise everyone who sees them to tear them up and burn them, and to advise those who are afflicted with loving their spread.
