Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And al-Asr)]
Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: [Al-Asr:1-2] So what is meant by al-Asr?It is said: What is meant by al-Asr is the end of the day; because the end of the day is its best part,And the prayer of al-Asr is called the middle prayer, meaning: the best part, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) named it so.
And it was said: Indeed, al-Asr is time,And this is the most correct: that al-Asr is time, by which Allah swore an oath because of the changes in conditions that occur in it, the fluctuations of affairs, the rotation of days among people, and other things that are observed in the present and spoken about in the past. So al-Asr is the time in which creation lives, and its times vary in severity and ease, war and peace, health and illness, good deeds and bad deeds, and other things known to everyone.
Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says:
(1) By time, (2) Indeed, mankind is in loss,
وَالْعَصْرِ * إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍAnd it was said: Indeed, al-Asr is time,And this is the most correct: that al-Asr is time, by which Allah swore an oath because of the changes in conditions that occur in it, the fluctuations of affairs, the rotation of days among people, and other things that are observed in the present and spoken about in the past.
