Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And the sky with the constellations)]

Allah the Exalted said:
By the sky containing great starsوَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ
[Al-Buruj:1] The waw is a letter of oath,Meaning: Allah the Exalted swears by the sky with the constellations,Meaning: the possessor of the constellations. Al-Buruj is the plural of burj, and it is the great cluster of stars. It is called al-Buruj because of its height, elevation, visibility, and clarity. According to the astronomers, al-Buruj consists of twelve constellations, gathered in the verse of the poet:
Aries, then Taurus, then Gemini, then Cancer, then Leo, then Virgo, then Libra,
then Scorpio, then Sagittarius, then Capricorn, and likewise Aquarius, and the last of them is Pisces.
So they are twelve constellations; three of them are for spring, three for summer, three for autumn, and three for winter.
So Allah the Exalted swears by the sky with the constellations. It is permissible for Him the Exalted to swear by whatever He wills of His creation. As for us, we do not swear except by Allah and by His names and attributes. We do not swear by any of His creations, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): (Whoever is swearing, let him swear by Allah or remain silent) and his saying: (Whoever swears by other than Allah has committed disbelief or associated partners with Allah) .
