Q

Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, says:
O you who have believed, indeed, among your wives and your children are enemies to you, so beware of themيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُمْ وَأَوْلادِكُمْ عَدُوّاً لَكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ
[Al-Taghabun: 14] We hope you will clarify the enmity and direct us to be cautious?

Allah the Exalted said:
O you who have believed, indeed, among your wivesيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُمْ
[At-Taghabun 64:14]
And He did not say: "Your wives and your children," for among the wives and children there is one who is an enemy, and among them there is one who is a righteous guardian who assists his parents in good and restrains them from evil. The enmity intended here is that one’s wife and children become the cause of his deviation from the religion of Allah. This is the greatest enmity. This occurs in some people who are weak in religion and personality. You find him to be a husband to a woman, yet a slave to her in another aspect; he does whatever she wants. The same applies to the children. The enmity may also be worldly; the wife may be sharp-tongued, extort his money, harm him, and make his life difficult, and so may the children. And his statement:
So beware of themفَاحْذَرُوهُمْ
That is: take heed with vigilance, monitoring, and careful observation so that they do not harm you; for the general rule is that an enemy is harmful to his enemy unless one guards against him through monitoring. But praise be to Allah; He did not (say)Allah in the verse: "Your wives and your children," He said: (from), and "from" indicates partiality, and the part may be the majority or it may be the minority.
