The discussion on enmity between the believers and the disbelievers.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Notice this separation, notice the strength of the enemy, the multitude of the enemy, and the fewness and weakness of our master Ibrahim (Abraham) and his companions in terms of their small number. The result of this noble stance and the complete separation between Ibrahim and these disbelievers was that Allah affirmed that we should follow the path that Ibrahim took. So He said later:
There has certainly been for you in them an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day. And whoever turns away - then indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.
[Al-Mumtahanah:6], and then He said at the end of the verse.
...
And the verse that follows it:
Perhaps Allah will put, between you and those to whom you have been enemies among them, affection
[Al-Mumtahanah 60:7]
Here we have witnessed
Perhaps Allah will put, between you and those to whom you have been
[Al-Mumtahanah 60:7]
just as Ibrahim and those with him were hostile, Allah is able, by the grace of this separation between us and them, the Lord of the worlds, by the grace of this complete separation for the sake of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), to turn their hateful hearts just as He turned the heart of 'Umar, who was determined to kill Muhammad, changing their hearts so that they become believers. Then Allah concluded the verse with a miraculous and eloquent meaning: we must increase our trust in Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) in His power to support us, even if we are weak as we mentioned, and Allah is capable of that by transferring them from the people of disbelief to the people of faith. And Allah is Forgiving of their sins and their evil deeds, Merciful to you because He strengthened you with them by the grace of your separation from them, … their anger for the sake of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). This is a brief word supporting the noble verse:
And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered.
[Al-Anfal:24].
We ask Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) to fill our hearts with His love and faith in Him (Blessed and Exalted is He) and trust, for this is the path that we must follow, and it is the path that … Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), and by it we benefit and take pride, and we are honored by it in this world and the Hereafter, and praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

The questioner : Meaning that not … .
Al-'Aid 'Abassi: We are still with us … in it, what is it like? I mean, Allah holds accountable for what is in the souls. Do you still hold this belief?
Another questioner: I do not say He knows what is in the souls.
Al-'Aid 'Abassi: He knows, but does He hold accountable?

The questioner : Of course, He holds accountable for it. If you intended evil and then left it, He holds you accountable for it, and you have a good deed.
Another questioner: Fair.
Another questioner: This is a correction.
Al-'Aid 'Abassi: Okay, if he intended evil but could not carry it out due to a worldly obstacle, is he held accountable for it?

The questioner : And from this … no good deed is recorded for him if there is an obstacle, and if the obstacle is the … no good deed is recorded for him.
Al-'Aid 'Abassi: I mean, he wanted to drink intoxicants but saw he had no money?

The questioner : I say no reward is recorded for him, but he is not held accountable.
Al-'Aid 'Abassi: Okay, so … then, he is held accountable for what is in his soul.

The questioner : I did not say I think He holds accountable, and Allah knows best. I said He knows, He knows.
Al-'Aid 'Abassi: But I told you, or … the saying of the Exalted:
Whether you show what is within yourselves or conceal it, Allah will bring you to account for it
[Al-Baqarah:284].

The questioner : Yes.
Al-'Aid 'Abassi: And that is like … the other verse … do we speak or do we act?
So this must be defined by what is authentic in the hadiths and what is mentioned in the continuation of the verses. It is mentioned in the continuation of the verses that Allah has lifted from people what they intended and what they told themselves, as long as they did not act on it. In the previous hadith, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah, the Most High, has forgiven my Ummah for whatever enters the mind, so long as it is not spoken of or put into action.
Sunan an-Nasa'i 3435Sahih (Darussalam)
.

The questioner : And therefore, this verse may be abrogated.

The Shaykh : How can you cite it as evidence since it is abrogated and after it came the saying of Allah:
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
.

The questioner : Abu 'Ammar, I told you He knows, knowledge does not mean holding accountable, do you see?
Al-'Aid 'Abassi: Our brothers, our brothers …

The questioner : … I mean, I said He knows, see, I said.
Al-'Aid 'Abassi: He knows, we are with you, but it appears that some understood it to mean holding accountable.
