The Difference Between Shirk-Based Hope and Permissible Hope

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
As we know, shirk (associating partners with Allah) has categories. And the treatment for the hidden type is for a person to say: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You that I am aware of, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I am not aware of.But the major type is like: Hope and fear; sometimes a Muslim may be confused and not distinguish between shirk-based hope and permissible hope. Could you clarify this topic?
Shirk-based hope is hope in the form of worship. If a person hopes in a way that involves humility, submission, and total reliance on the one hoped from, believing that this one holds the power to do whatever he wills, that is shirk. If a person hopes in a creation in this manner, it is major shirk.
As for a person’s hope for something that can be achieved by another without the heart attaching to that person with humility and submission, there is no harm in it.For example, saying to a person: I hope you will help me.I hope you will go to so-and-so and tell him: Such as, "I hope you will do so and so." There is no harm in this, and it is not shirk in any way. This is because a person’s hope in his Lord is not like his hope in others. A person’s hope in Allah involves humility, submission, reliance, and faith that He is able to do what He wills. If a person directs this type of hope to other than Allah, it is major shirk. His hope in other than Allah does not include such elements.
