The operative cause of the prohibition of singing and music

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A non-Muslim asked me a question at the beginning of his Islam, where he used to listen to songs and love them,So he said to me: Why did Islam forbid songs, even though music relaxes me?I tried to explain it to him but I could not! The Shaykh: Speak to him in his language about this question of yours,And ask him: Does he agree with it or not?The questioner: Yes,He says: I was satisfied with your answer on that day; but he wants to be convinced.

The Shaykh: Let him ask in his own voice so that it can be recorded.

The questioner: He says: Why did Islam forbid music?
Islam forbade music because it deviates the heart, takes hold of it, and distracts it from the remembrance of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Man was created to worship Allah (Mighty and Majestic). So when his heart becomes attached to these musical instruments, which are music, it turns him away from the remembrance of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Therefore, you find those who are obsessed with this music; you find him walking and saying this with his hand, as if he is beating the music; because it occupied his mind and his heart. And Islam wants its people to always be directed toward Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
