Listening to singing and music

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 8668 )
Q3: What is the ruling on listening to singing and music? I have read in a book hadiths that forbid singing, and I advised a person, and he said: If you attend a group of singers, then it is permissible for it to be forbidden,
but as for the tape in the recorder, the television, and the radio, it is not forbidden. So we asked: What is the difference between the device and the group? He said: With the group, you see them and hear them, whereas in the other cases, you hear but do not see anything. Please give us a ruling, may Allah reward you with good
.

A3 : Listening to singing and music from the people themselves and listening to it from the devices in which it was recorded is forbidden; due to the generality of the evidence of prohibition, and the sharing of the two types in amusement, inciting fitnah, and leading to harm. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions
