What is the ruling on one who drinks while forgetting during voluntary fasting?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : e : Regarding voluntary fasting, meaning one is fasting a voluntary fast and forgets, then drinks something. Is it correct that he must break his fast and it is not permissible for him to continue fasting?

The Shaykh : No, that is not correct. There is no difference between obligatory fasting and voluntary fasting, as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever eats or drinks while forgetting, it is as if Allah has fed him and given him drink, and there is no expiation upon him and no making up of the fast. مَن أكل أو شرب ناسيًا فإنما أطعمه الله وسقاه ، ولا كفارة عليه ولا قضاء
.

The questioner : e : Even though they tell us here that there is a female preacher in the mosque who says that whoever forgets during a voluntary fast must break it immediately.

The Shaykh : Yes, men today are making many mistakes, let alone women. And this female preacher is not a scholar; at best, she is a graduate of the Faculty of Sharia, so her jurisprudence is shallow, superficial, and limited.
