Exhortation to Maintain Obedience to Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the Pious, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.

To proceed: This is the twenty-second session after the hundredth of the sessions known as (The Open Door), which takes place every Thursday of every week.
This is the twenty-first Thursday of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, in the year (1416 AH), in which we speak of what Allah has bestowed upon the pilgrims this year in terms of health, security, stability, and cleanliness in all the sacred sites, until the Muslims performed their rites—praise be to Allah—in the most perfect manner. However, such large gatherings are not free from some deficiencies, especially among those who do not have knowledge of the Shari'ah, its objectives, and its sources. The majority of pilgrims are ignorant commoners who know only that they performed the rites, that they performed Hajj, and that they performed 'Umrah. They are not aware that this is a great act of worship that envelops a person from the time of entering ihram until he exits it. Therefore, you find them violent when meeting their brothers in the sacred sites, in tawaf, in sa'y, and in stoning the pillars. You also find many of them who do not accept advice, because they came only to perform actions without their hearts being aware that they are in a state of worship. This is a matter that it is obligatory for all our Muslim brothers to be aware of, that they are in a state of worship from the time of entering ihram until they exit it and their rites are completed.
Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed that the accepted Hajj has no reward except Paradise,And He informed that: (Whoever performs Hajj and does not commit lewdness or sin returns—meaning from his sins—as if he were born on the day his mother bore him), and this leads to the Muslim being better after completing Hajj than he was before performing Hajj, because he returned purified from sins. Therefore, he should not stain the pages of his deeds with sins after Allah the Exalted has purified him from them,And that is by maintaining obedience to Allah Mighty and Majestic: the greatest and most severe of which is prayer, for it is the greatest pillar of Islam after the two testimonies, and it is the pillar of the religion, and it is not possible for there to be a religion without it. For this reason, the most correct of the opinions of the scholars is that one who abandons it out of laziness or negligence is a disbeliever with a disbelief that takes him out of the religion—may Allah protect us from that.

Maintaining, likewise, the performance of zakah to its rightful recipients whom Allah the Exalted specified in His saying:
Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the [stranded] travelerإِنَّمَا الصَّدَقَاتُ لِلْفُقَرَاءِ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَالْعَامِلِينَ عَلَيْهَا وَالْمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَفِي الرِّقَابِ وَالْغَارِمِينَ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ
[Surah al-Tawbah: 60] .
And likewise fasting, Hajj, dutifulness to parents, maintaining family ties, good neighborliness, hospitality, and other laws and rituals of the religion.
We ask Allah for us and for you steadfastness and firmness.
