The Ruling on the Order of Stoning the Pillars

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
One of them, during Hajj, began stoning the pillars by starting with the middle one, then the small one, then the large one. Is he required to do anything?
Was he ignorant or did he do it intentionally? The questioner: Intentionally.

The Shaykh: Did he know that it is forbidden? The questioner: By Allah, I do not know, because a man asked me.

The Shaykh: The point is that if he knew it was forbidden, he owes an expiation: a sacrificial animal to be slaughtered in Makkah and distributed to the poor. If he did not know, or if he knew but thought it was permissible for him not to follow the order due to the crowd, then he is ignorant and he owes nothing.
