The Order of Stoning the Pillars

Fatwa No. ( 17167 )
Q: On the third day of the days of Hajj, I and many other people stoned all the pillars before the Zuhr prayer. After that, I heard the microphone shouting that it is not permissible to stone except after the prayer. So, I returned after the Zuhr prayer and stoned the middle pillar, then the third, and I passed over the first one by mistake. I then returned and stoned the first pillar after the middle and the third. All of this was done after the Zuhr prayer. I ask your eminence, is there anything upon me for this, and is the Hajj of this woman who assumed her Hajj complete? May Allah preserve you.
A : It is obligatory for you to pay a fidyah (ransom payment) because you did not observe the order of stoning on the third day, as you stoned the middle and third pillars before the first. The fidyah is: a sheep that is acceptable as an udhiyah (sacrifice), or one-seventh of a camel, or one-seventh of a cow, to be slaughtered in Makkah and distributed to the poor of the Haram. If you do not find one, then you must fast for ten days. As for your doubt about hitting the pillar, it does not affect the validity of the stoning if the pebbles fell into the basin. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
