Motivations for Holding the Mawlid and the Response to Them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.

To proceed: This is Thursday, the third of the month of Rabi' al-Awwal, in the year (1417 AH), which is the weekly meeting that takes place every Thursday of every week.
In this meeting, we would like to speak about an issue that has swept through the Muslim world, which has no basis, neither in the Qur'an, nor in the Sunnah, nor in the practice of the Companions and the Successors,Which are: celebrating the birth of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
This celebration has become widespread, and some people believe it to be a religion and a law, and some may even think that it is among the most obligatory duties, and that love for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) is not complete without it.
We will clarify, if Allah wills, in this meeting that celebrating the birth of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) on the twelfth day of this month has no basis, neither in history, nor in the Shari'ah.
