The ruling on a mu'adhdhin who prevented the imam's agent from leading the people in prayer and appointed someone else
Noble Shaykh! What is the ruling on a person whom the imam appointed to lead the people in prayer in the mosque, and when the agent arrived for prayer, the mu'adhdhin prevented him from leading, and appointed another man, and the mu'adhdhin's reason for this was the agent's lack of knowledge?
This is, in reality, a transgression by the mu'adhdhin. The mu'adhdhin has no say in the imamah whatsoever. The imamah is the imam's affair, and no one is incapable of leading the people. Reciting al-Fatihah and whatever is easy, everyone recites it, praise be to Allah.
So I see that this mu'adhdhin—may Allah guide him from what he is about to do, and forgive what has passed—has erred and encroached upon the imam's right, and he has no right to appoint the other man.
And according to the opinion of some scholars, their prayer is invalid, and the prayer of the one who led them is invalid; because he is not a regular imam, nor a deputy for the regular imam. But we see that the imamah is valid, if Allah wills. I mean that the prayer is valid, and that the act is forbidden.

Then this man whom the mu'adhdhin appointed should have said: No.
I will not pray while the imam's agent is present; because the imam's agent stands in the place of the imam. So convey to this mu'adhdhin that he should repent to Allah and seek Allah's forgiveness, and not return to such an act.
