Ruling on the prayer of one who sits waiting for the iqamah and combats it by sleeping

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Some boys over the age of ten, when they come for the Fajr prayer and sit waiting for the iqamah, are overcome by sleep and sometimes fall asleep. Sometimes they also fall asleep while sitting for the tashahhud. So, is he ordered to repeat the prayer when he returns home, or is his prayer sufficient for him?

Say: And during prostration as well.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh: As long as this man—whether he is young or not—feels that he has performed a state of ritual impurity, his prayer is valid and he does not repeat it. Likewise, if he is speaking in tasbih, takbir, and the Qur'an, even if he is speaking but does not understand it well, there is no harm; it suffices for him.
However, if his awareness is completely absent and he sits, for example, between the two prostrations or sits for the tashahhud, but he does not know whether he said anything or not, then he should, indeed, it is obligatory for him to repeat the prayer. And here is a matter: And that is what the scholars say: if a person has severe drowsiness such that he cannot complete the prayer with the congregation, let him pray alone and sleep; because this is more severe than the presence of food. If a person has food present, there is no harm in him sitting and eating until he is full, even if he misses the congregation, so this is even more so. And there is no doubt that the analogy is clear. If a person has severe sleepiness, he says: If you go to the mosque and you no longer know what you are saying, but if you pray now you will catch the prayer,We say: Pray now and sleep.

The questioner: Even if the days continue.

The Shaykh: No, this does not continue except for a person who does not care. The important thing is that he catches the prayer, that he catches it with his heart and comprehends it with his heart.
