The ruling on a smoker who dies as a result of smoking

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The one who dies because of smoking, is he considered a suicide? The Shaykh: Do you think that the one who smokes does so in order to die?The questioner: No.

The Shaykh: So he is not a suicide. But the one who puts explosives in his stomach and goes to the enemy and detonates them there, is he a suicide or not? He is a suicide.
There is a difference between the one who intends to kill himself and the one who does not intend to.

But it is said: If the harm of smoking leads to death, this is one of the strongest pieces of evidence for the ruling of prohibition, and it is undoubtedly forbidden in my view—smoking—because of the physical harms, genetic harms, and financial harms it contains. Do you not know that the one who smokes, if he cannot afford it, may sell his honor?Tell me: Yes or no?The questioner: No.

The Shaykh: You say well: Yes.

If he says to you: Do not you say: Yes.

In any case: Smoking, in our view, we have no doubt that it is forbidden,But we do not say: If one who smokes kills himself; because he did not intend to kill himself.
