The Shaykh Al-Albani’s explanation of the degree of disagreement reached by Muslims today, with a mention of the categories of tawhid (the oneness of Allah).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This is an example of those who ignore the bad reality of Muslims. Part of this bad reality is that the disagreement among Muslims is not only in the branches, but in the fundamentals. I would not be exaggerating if I said it is in the fundamental of fundamentals, which is the testimony that there is no god but Allah, and they have disagreed on it. Today, in this country in particular, you will find a printed thesis by a person whose name we do not wish to mention now, and what is sufficient for you from his name is what its author named it: *Al-Tanaddud bi-man 'Addada al-Tawhid* (Rebuke of the One Who Enumerated Tawhid). *Al-Tanaddud bi-man 'Addada al-Tawhid* refers to a refutation of the Muslim scholars who say that tawhid (the oneness of Allah) has three categories, and that whoever unites Allah in them is truly a monotheist, otherwise his tawhid is incomplete: tawhid al-rububiyyah (oneness of lordship), tawhid al-uluhiyyah (oneness of worship), and tawhid al-asma' wa al-sifat (oneness of the names and attributes). Tawhid al-rububiyyah is that you believe that Allah is One in His essence, in His creation, in His provision, in His giving life, and in His causing death. Tawhid al-rububiyyah
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds - الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
[Al-Fatihah 1:2]
Tawhid al-uluhiyyah is tawhid of worship, meaning that you worship Him alone with no partner. Tawhid al-asma' wa al-sifat is that you unite Him in all His attributes, with no one from among Allah’s creation participating with Him in them, (Mighty and Majestic is He).
