The ruling on the permissibility of visiting the Quba Mosque on Saturday and going there on foot or by riding
Regarding my worship of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) by going to the Quba Mosque every Saturday, either on foot or sometimes by riding, is this prescribed or not?
Going to the Quba Mosque in Madinah every Saturday is a recommended practice (sunnah); because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do it, and this is part of his wisdom;Because Allah the Exalted said to him:
A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Withinلَمَسْجِدٌ أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى مِنْ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ أَحَقُّ أَنْ تَقُومَ فِيهِ فِيهِ
[At-Tawbah: 108] And the two mosques: the Prophet’s Mosque and the Quba Mosque, both were founded on piety from the very first day. The Quba Mosque was founded on the first day the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) descended in Quba, and the Mosque of Madinah was founded on the first day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, so both were founded from the very first day. But there is no doubt that the Prophet’s Mosque is better. For this reason, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) would make Friday for the Prophet’s Mosque and Saturday for the Quba Mosque.
So if it is easy for you to visit Quba every Saturday, by riding or on foot, according to what is easy for you, and you leave your house in a state of ritual purity and pray in it whatever Allah wills, then it is good.
