The virtue of prayer in the Mosque of Quba
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q159: The questioner asks: What is the virtue of prayer in the Mosque of Quba?
A159: Prayer in the Mosque of Quba has a great virtue; for Allah (Exalted and Majestic) said:[At-Tawbah 9:108]. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to go to the Mosque of Quba every Saturday, both on foot and on a mount, and pray in it. This applies to those who reside in Madinah. As for one who travels specifically for the purpose of praying in the Mosque of Quba, that is not permissible. However, one who travels to pray in the Prophet’s Mosque (peace and blessings be upon him) may visit the Mosque of Quba as a secondary purpose, as well as one who resides in Madinah.
A159: Prayer in the Mosque of Quba has a great virtue; for Allah (Exalted and Majestic) said:
Do not stand [for prayer] within it - ever. A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it are men who love to purify themselves; and Allah loves those who purify themselves.
