Explaining the status of the science of hadith rules and the uniqueness of the Islamic community in possessing it.

The Shaykh : That is because the occurrence of such things does not harm the original hadith or its validity. And so... if it were not for them... and the conditions, without which the Sunnah would have suffered what befell the two revealed books, the Torah and the Gospel. But Allah (Mighty and Majestic) provided for this community those who established these controls and these rules to distinguish the defects that occurred in the texts of these narrations, let alone their chains of narration. Those are the scholars of hadith. Therefore, it is authentically reported from some of the Imams, and I think it was Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak, that "the chain of narration is part of the religion," and "the chain of narration is part of the religion, and if it were not for the chain of narration, whoever wished would say whatever he wished," just as the Jews and Christians did completely. So, it does not harm the hadith that some errors occurred in it, because the means that help the scholar to know these errors are preserved and accessible, like any science in this world, like any science in this world. For this reason, the hadith, in terms of its text, is divided into authentic, good, weak, and fabricated. Then the authentic is divided into categories, and the good is likewise, and so on. All of this is only for the purpose of extracting this alteration that occurred in some of the hadiths. Therefore, there is no harm to the hadith from what occurred. I wish that all the news circulated by all the peoples, let alone the Islamic peoples, the other peoples, would have the controls and rules that help them to know the authentic from the weak among them. But this is a distinctiveness by which Allah distinguished the community of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). And this is something that some of the Orientalists who studied Islam acknowledged, and who had some fairness and were far from deep-seated hatred.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : What prevails over most Orientalists is that they had no choice but to acknowledge that the science of hadith and the science of chains of narration are a distinctiveness by which the Muhammadan community is unique. And from this, there is no harm in this question and this answer.
Yes.
