Then Allah the Exalted said:
Reclining on arranged couchesمُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى سُرُرٍ مَصْفُوفَةٍ
[Surat al-Tur: 20] (reclining) is a state,Meaning: a state of being reclining, and the one who reclines indicates by his posture that he is in joy, expansion, and tranquility; because reclining indicates that.
(and the couches) is the plural of couch, and they are: the luxurious chairs prepared in the best manner for the one sitting on them.
(arranged) meaning: arranged one next to the other, arranged by the servants and the young men.
And We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.وَزَوَّجْنَاهُمْ بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
[Surat al-Tur: 20] meaning: We paired them with houris of wide eyes, and the houris is the plural of huriyyah, and the 'ayn is the plural of 'aynawwa, and the origin of the houris is whiteness, and as for the 'aynawwa, it is the one who was beautiful in her eye in its blackness and whiteness, so they are beautiful in face and beautiful in eyes.
