Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (There are raised couches therein)

Allah the Exalted said:

⁽¹³⁾ Within it are couches raised high ⁽¹⁴⁾ And cups put in place ⁽¹⁵⁾ And cushions lined up ⁽¹⁶⁾ And carpets spread around.

فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَرْفُوعَةٌ * وَأَكْوَابٌ مَوْضُوعَةٌ * وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ * وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ

[al-Ghashiyah:13-16] Look at the contrast:

Within it are couches raised high

فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَرْفُوعَةٌ

[al-Ghashiyah:13] high, they sit upon it, they enjoy themselves

They and their spouses - in shade, reclining on adorned couches.

هُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُهُمْ فِي ظِلالٍ عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ مُتَّكِئُونَ

[Yasin:56] .
