The ruling on one who intends to travel and the iqamah is called before he leaves the town

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
If a traveler, for example, reaches the time of the Zuhr prayer and the adhan is called while he has resolved to travel and has boarded the car, does he delay Zuhr until 'Asr, or does he pray with them?
There is no harm. If the adhan is called while he is in his town, he may delay it and pray it shortened. However, if he hears the iqamah while he is in his town, he must pray.

The questioner: Does he pray Zuhr, or Zuhr and 'Asr?The Shaykh: He does not pray 'Asr; because he has not traveled yet. If he hears the iqamah, he prays Zuhr with the people, then he boards, and when the time for 'Asr comes, he prays it.

The questioner: Not shortened, but complete? The Shaykh: Yes, complete, because he is in his town. But if he fears missing the travel, such as having a scheduled flight departure, and if he delays until the imam comes and calls the iqamah, he would miss the flight, then he is excused for leaving the congregation, and he goes out and prays Zuhr shortened.
