Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And you laugh and you do not weep)
Allah the Exalted said: [Surah al-Najm: 60] Meaning: in mockery of this report, which is the Qur'an. Likewise, they laugh at this report when they purchase it, for they used to laugh at the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), his acts of worship, and they would ridicule him. Therefore: (You are amazed) is denial, and (you laugh) is mockery.
His statement: Meaning: you do not weep from this report out of awe, fear, and turning back to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Rather, they are the hardest of people in heart, may Allah protect us, or among the hardest of people in heart. Their hearts do not soften, and they do not weep out of awe of Allah.
