Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And that it is He who causes laughter and causes weeping)]

Allah the Exalted said:
And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weepوَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَى
[Surah al-Najm: 43] Is the intended meaning actual laughter, or is the intended meaning the consequence of that, which is joy?And the same is said regarding "causes weeping": Is the intended meaning actual weeping, or is the intended meaning sadness? If we look at the apparent meaning of the wording, we say: Actual laughter, and actual laughter does not arise except from joy. (And causes weeping) actual weeping, and weeping does not occur except from sadness. So Allah the Exalted causes laughter in this world and causes weeping, and causes laughter in the Hereafter and causes weeping.

The disbelievers in this world are currently laughing at the Muslims and the believers:
Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ
[Surah al-Mutaffifin: 29] But this laughter will be followed by weeping on the Day of Resurrection:
So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers,فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ
[Surah al-Mutaffifin: 34] So the One who causes laughter in this world and causes weeping, and the One who causes laughter in the Hereafter and causes weeping, is Allah (Mighty and Majestic).

Therefore: He has decreed what brings about laughter, and He has decreed what brings about weeping. He brought forth the two matters, which are opposites, to make known thereby that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is capable of all things, and He is the One capable of creating opposites.
