Umrah during Ramadan is equal to Hajj عمرة في رمضان تعدل حجة

Equivalent to a Hajj with me تعدل حجة معي
The apparent meaning of this hadith is that an ‘Umrah in Ramadan is equivalent to a Hajj, from the time the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said it until today. However, some scholars said: “This statement is specific to Umm Maqil, who lagged behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in performing Hajj”. But this opinion, although held by some scholars, is weak. The majority of scholars hold that the hadith is general until the Day of Resurrection, and that an ‘Umrah in Ramadan is equivalent to a Hajj. However, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did not say that an ‘Umrah on the twenty-seventh night or any other night is specifically designated for this. Therefore, specifying this night for an ‘Umrah is contrary to the Sunnah, because it was not from the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), nor from his action, nor from the action of his Companions.
