Exegesis of Verses from Surat al-Hadid

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.

To proceed: This is the two hundred and seventh of the gatherings known as: (The Open Door), which take place every Thursday, and this Thursday is the nineteenth of the month of Safar in the year (1420 AH).
We begin this gathering with what we have been accustomed to beginning with, which is the exegesis of the Noble Qur'an, because the purpose of the revelation of the Noble Qur'an is to reflect -Meaning: to contemplate its meanings - then to take a lesson from it -Meaning: to act upon it -Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said:
[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.كِتَابٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ
[S:29] So Allah explained the wisdom behind its revelation, that it is for reflection and taking a lesson:
and that those of understanding may rememberوَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ
[S:29] meaning: that they may take a lesson from it, (those of understanding): meaning the people of intellect.
The ones who recited the Qur'an from among the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) did not pass ten verses until they learned them and the knowledge and action contained in them, so they learned the Qur'an, the knowledge, and the action all together. As for most Muslims today, they only recite the Qur'an, hoping for the reward of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and there is no doubt that this is good, but the perfection of good is to know the meaning, for if you read a book without knowing its meaning, there is no benefit in reading it; rather, you are illiterate even if you recite the Qur'an,because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And among them are unlettered ones who do not know the Scripture except in wishful thinkingوَمِنْهُمْ أُمِّيُّونَ لا يَعْلَمُونَ الْكِتَابَ إِلَّا أَمَانِيَّ
[al-Baqarah:78] meaning: except recitation, so Allah the Exalted called them illiterates, because they do not understand. Therefore, I urge my Muslim brothers, and especially the students of knowledge, to understand the Noble Qur'an above all else, then to take a lesson from it,And it is: to act upon it by believing its reports, complying with its commands, and avoiding its prohibitions.
Therefore, we preferred that the beginning of this blessed gathering be the exegesis of what was made easy from the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and we have finished from the first of the latter part of the Qur'an, from Surat Qaf to the end of Surat al-Waqi'ah.
And today we begin with Surat al-Hadid.
