and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other daysوَمَنْ كَانَ مَرِيضاً أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ
[Surat al-Baqarah: 185] It is better for him to fast, unless there is some hardship involved, in which case it is better for him to break his fast.
