The Invalidity of the Claim That Cupping Causes Forgetfulness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
I am a person who wants to undergo cupping, but I have heard that cupping causes forgetfulness. What is your opinion, Your Eminence?
Cupping is one of the recommended medical treatments. If a person has a lot of bad blood, cupping is necessary. In that case, the matter should be presented to a specialized doctor. When he says: If cupping is necessary, it must be done. Know that when a person is cupped for the first time, his body becomes accustomed to it, and he then has to be cupped every year, or else the blood will overwhelm him. If he has never been cupped at all, he generally does not need it.
As for the claim that it causes forgetfulness, that is not the case. How could the Messenger clarify that it is among the beneficial medicines, and we say: It causes forgetfulness? This is not correct.
One of the greatest causes of forgetfulness is disobedience to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). As Allah the Exalted said:
So for their breaking of the covenant We cursed them and made their hearts hard. They distort words from their [proper] usages and have forgotten a portion of that of which they were remindedفَبِمَا نَقْضِهِمْ مِيثَاقَهُمْ لَعَنَّاهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَا قُلُوبَهُمْ قَاسِيَةً يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ عَنْ مَوَاضِعِهِ وَنَسُوا حَظّاً مِمَّا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ
[Al-Ma'idah: 13] .
