Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (Those are greater in rank than those who spent after them and fought)

Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said:
Those are greater in degree than they who spent afterwards and foughtأُولَئِكَ أَعْظَمُ دَرَجَةً مِنَ الَّذِينَ أَنْفَقُوا مِنْ بَعْدُ وَقَاتَلُوا
[Al-Hadid: 10] This is because the former group spent and fought and were the first to embrace Islam, and Islam was in need of them and their spending, so they were better than those who spent after them and fought. And Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) judges with justice among His servants, but since the preference of the earlier ones might be understood to mean that there is no merit for the later ones, He said:
And to both Allah has promised the best [reward]وَكُلّاً وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الْحُسْنَى
[Al-Hadid: 10] (No, both) of those who spent before the conquest and fought, and those who spent after it and fought, Allah has promised them the best reward,Meaning: Paradise.
