The ruling on one who buys on deferred payment and then sells it on deferred payment for a longer period and at a higher price
One person advised me to ask you this question: What is the Shari'ah's view, in your opinion, of a person who borrows a car for forty thousand over a period of one year, and then borrows it for sixty thousand over a period of two years?
There is nothing wrong with that, on the condition that he has taken possession of the car in the first contract and brought it to his home, and then he sells it. But as you know, Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Every person who buys a commodity at a deferred price and his intention is the money, not the commodity, has fallen into riba (usury or interest), and that this is of the 'inah (a buy-back sale used to disguise a loan) from which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) warned.
