The Scholars' Disagreement on the Disbelief of the One Who Abandons Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Is it possible to cite rational evidence for the disbelief of the one who abandons prayer? She says: That he does not draw near to Allah with anything and does not worship Allah, and then, for example, to refute the doubt of the Murji'ah;Because they say: That faith is belief in the heart,He says: That Iblis did not deny the existence of Allah the Exalted,Rather, he swore and said:
By Your Majestyفَبِعِزَّتِكَ
[Surah Sad: 82] and he said:
By what You have led me astrayفَبِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي
[Surah Al-A'raf: 16] So what is your opinion on citing this, O Shaykh?
No.

Because those who said: That he does not become a disbeliever; they are not from the Murji'ah. This is a matter of evidence in which people have disagreed.Meaning: The disbelief of the one who abandons prayer, or his not being a disbeliever, is not based on the doctrine of the Murji'ah, and there is no doubt that the doctrine of the Murji'ah is wrong. And their saying: That faith is what settles in the heart. We say: This is Iblis, who has faith in Allah, asks Allah, and supplicates to Allah, and yet it did not benefit them.
Glory be to You, O Allah, our Lord, and praise be to You, I testify that there is no god but You, I seek Your forgiveness and I repent to You.
