Exegesis of Verses from Surat al-Waqi'ah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.

To proceed: This is the ninety-sixth session of the Open Door meetings, which take place every Thursday, and this Thursday is the eighteenth of Shawwal in the year 1419 AH.
We begin this session with what has become customary, which is to speak about what Allah Mighty and Majestic facilitates from the verses of Allah, and we have reached Surat al-Waqi'ah,Allah the Exalted said: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The Basmala is a verse of the Book of Allah that is independent; it is not attached to what follows it nor to what precedes it,Therefore, the stronger position is: it is not a verse of al-Fatihah,And if a person limits his recitation to: (Al-hamdu lillahi Rabb al-'alamin) to the end of the surah, he would have performed the pillar and his prayer would be valid. If we considered the Basmala to be part of al-Fatihah, his prayer would be invalid if he did not recite the Basmala; because he would have omitted from it -Meaning: a verse from al-Fatihah- so the correct position, without any doubt, is that it -Meaning: the Basmala- is not a verse of al-Fatihah nor of any other surah.

And as for His saying, Blessed and Exalted is He, in Surat al-Naml:
Indeed, it is from Solomon, and indeed, it reads: 'In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,إِنَّهُ مِنْ سُلَيْمَانَ وَإِنَّهُ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
[al-Naml: 30] This is a transmission of the letter of Sulayman (peace be upon him) and is not part of the Qur'an that Allah revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) as legislation for this Ummah; rather, it is a report of what Sulayman (peace be upon him) wrote.
(Bism Allah al-Rahman al-Rahim) meaning: I begin or I recite: Bism Allah al-Rahman al-Rahim, Surat al-Waqi'ah.
