Definition of the Udhiyah and Its Days

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The udhiyah is: Drawing near to Allah the Exalted by slaughtering sacrificial animals on the days of slaughter,And it is four: the day of the festival and the three days following it. It is a confirmed recommended practice (sunnah muakkadah), to the extent that some scholars stated it is obligatory (wajib), and that whoever leaves it off while having the ability to perform it is sinful. It is one of the outward signs of the religion that Allah Mighty and Majestic prescribed for His servants in regions where there is no hady (sacrificial animal for Hajj).
This is because Muslims draw near to Allah the Exalted on these days with hady if they are pilgrims, and with udhiyah if they are not pilgrims. Among the wisdom of Allah Mighty and Majestic is that the earth is populated for drawing near to Allah through slaughter, either as hady, which is for the pilgrims, or as udhiyah, which is for those who are not pilgrims.
