Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (And when they come to you, they greet you with what Allah has not blessed you with)

Allah the Exalted said:
And when they come to you, they greet you with that [word] by which Allah does not greet youوَإِذَا جَاءُوكَ حَيَّوْكَ بِمَا لَمْ يُحَيِّكَ بِهِ اللَّهُ
[Al-Mujadilah: 8] Meaning: When they pass by you or come to you while you are in a gathering, they greet you with what Allah has not blessed you with,And that is by their saying: saying "As-sam 'alaykum" (death upon you) -Meaning: death - but they do not pronounce it clearly,So the listener thinks they are saying: Peace be upon you.
And for this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) commanded, when the People of the Book or others from among them whom we suspect are saying "As-sam 'alaykum" greet us, that we should say: "Wa 'alaykum" (And upon you).
If he invoked peace, it is upon him, and if he invoked "As-sam" (death), it is upon him, and this is the height of justice, but if the Jew or the Christian or others greet you clearly by saying: "As-salamu 'alaykum" (Peace be upon you), then you may say: "Wa 'alaykum as-salam" (And upon you be peace).

because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet [in return] with one better than it or [at least] return itوَإِذَا حُيِّيتُمْ بِتَحِيَّةٍ فَحَيُّوا بِأَحْسَنَ مِنْهَا أَوْ رُدُّوهَا
[An-Nisa: 86] And because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Indeed, when the People of the Book greet you, they say "As-sam 'alaykum," so say "Wa 'alaykum") And this indicates that if they had said "As-salam," we would have said "Wa 'alaykum as-salam."
and say among themselvesوَيَقُولُونَ فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ
[Al-Mujadilah: 8] Meaning: One of them reflects in his heart, or the meaning is that they say among themselves
Why does Allah not punish us for what we say?لَوْلا يُعَذِّبُنَا اللَّهُ بِمَا نَقُولُ
[Al-Mujadilah: 8] Meaning: Why does not Allah punish us for what we say if what we say is wrong,As if they are challenging Allah the Mighty and Majestic and saying: if we had committed a mistake, Allah would have punished us,Allah the Exalted said:
Hell is sufficient for themحَسْبُهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ
[Al-Mujadilah: 8] Meaning: Their recompense is
which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the destination.يَصْلَوْنَهَا فَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ
[Al-Mujadilah: 8] And this is a severe warning for those who escaped the punishment of this world, that they will have the punishment of the Hereafter.
