The Shaykh’s guidance to some students regarding engaging with those who attack him and the blessed call, such as Ali al-Faqir!

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : May Allah keep you safe.

The questioner: Yes, what happened with you?

The Shaykh: I advised him to divide the group he wants to visit into two categories.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh: One category like the brother, what is his name, the one I mentioned.

The questioner: Yusuf al-Azhm.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh: Meaning, those who do not harbor resentment, hatred, or envy in their hearts. His approach with them should be as he said. And the others, like al-Faqir and al-Khalidi, and I mentioned his statement that the Shaykh is senile, that these people did not speak out of independent legal reasoning. So these people need to first read their articles and know what they contain, on one hand of ignorance, and on the other hand of bias that has no relation to knowledge.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh: Because you heard his statement that he places it under the category of having made an error in independent legal reasoning.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh: But here, it is said regarding some sincere, good people that they truly made an error, so they have a reward. But as for these people, it is clear from them that the issue is not one of knowledge and independent legal reasoning, but one of defamation and fishing in muddy waters. So I clarified to him and insisted on him specifically to listen to al-Faqir’s tape.

The questioner: Al-Faqir’s tape is not available to me, and until now I have not listened to it.

The Shaykh : Strange.

The questioner: By Allah, I wanted to take it from you, but it did not work out. What I want to tell you, my uncle, is that we are going to Yusuf al-Azhm’s place. Do you have any objection to us speaking?

The Shaykh: No, no, I have no objection.

The questioner: I just want to finish up at Yusuf al-Azhm’s place. We won’t take much of his time. I told him that we will just reach your place, take Ali al-Faqir’s tape, and al-Khalidi’s article in the first newspaper. You have it, I gave you the copy I had because...

The Shaykh: Yes, yes, it is available with me.

The questioner: I told him to go out and listen and see, so that you are in the light when you speak.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner: So, my uncle, I will just finish up at Yusuf al-Azhm’s place and come to you. I will just take the tape and the first newspaper. The second newspaper is available with me.

The Shaykh: All right.

The questioner: If Allah wills, my uncle. Okay, may Allah give you health.

The Shaykh: Welcome, may Allah give you health.

The questioner: With your permission, Shaykh.
