The Shaykh: Yes.
The questioner : Our Shaykh, may Allah reward you with good. During your speech, you mentioned the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan Abi Dawud 2645.
The Shaykh: Yes.
The questioner : The reality is that many young people travel abroad for study; this is a fact... and especially in this period, the door of migration to the lands of disbelief has been opened. We hope for your general advice regarding going abroad for study and regarding this migration. May Allah reward you with good.
The Shaykh : What I know is that the door of migration to the lands of disbelief has been open for many years. Therefore, they call those who return from those lands "those who returned from the lands of the diaspora," if Allah wills. Before I enter into answering the question, I want to draw attention to the fact that the first error of these people is that they call their travel from the lands of Islam to the lands of disbelief "migration." The opposite is what is supposed to be the case, if people knew: there are people in the lands of disbelief who have embraced Islam, and this is a favor of Allah upon them. But this Islam is usually not accompanied by knowledge of the rulings of Islam, and this is natural. The reason for this goes back to those who call themselves "da'is" (callers) and who travel to those lands in the name of calling to Islam. Indeed, there are large and praiseworthy Islamic organizations that send many students of knowledge who have graduated from some universities; they send them at the organization's expense in the way of calling to Islam. There is nothing wrong with that. But the reality is that these da'is do not fulfill their duty as it should be, in that they do not make those Muslims—who were disbelievers and then their Lord guided them and they became Muslims—understand the rulings of their religion. They do not explain to them that their Islam is not complete and not perfected except by migrating from the abode of disbelief to the abode of Islam.

I am not responsible for any Muslim who stays among polytheists
أنا بريءٌ من كلِّ مسلم يُقيم بين ظهراني المشركينThe Shaykh: Yes.
