Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner: Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh: And upon you peace.

The questioner : How is Shaykh Nasser doing?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, I am well.

The questioner : Excuse me, two questions.

The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner : I asked you before this day about the meaning of "al-sablu" (the path/way), and you told me that one of its meanings is "discharge" (ejaculation).

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : So how do we respond to those who cite this hadith as evidence for placing the hands on the knees after bowing?

The Shaykh : Placing the hands on the knees is an action; if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Salaf had practiced it, it would have been transmitted to us just as the placing of the hands in the first standing was transmitted. Since it was not transmitted, it is not done.

The questioner : Yes, very well. I move on to the second topic: standing up for the third rak'ah. Does one say the takbir for it while raising the hands in the sitting position, or in the standing position?

The Shaykh : When he raises his head from prostration.

The questioner : Very well. Is there not a hadith that he did not say the takbir while sitting?

The Shaykh: No.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh: Peace be upon you.
