The Shaykh’s warning that religious knowledge does not bear its fruit without sincerity to Allah (Mighty and Majestic).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : They do not enter universities seeking religious knowledge in the first place. And of those who do enter universities to seek religious knowledge, most of them do so not to gain understanding of the religion, nor so that the words of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) would apply to them:
Whoever Allah wills good for, He grants him understanding in the religion. مَن يُرِدِ به الله خيرًا يفقِّهْه في الدِّينِ
, but rather to compete with the scholars and to argue with the foolish, as mentioned in some authentic hadiths. So his end is as stated in the hadith itself:
Entered the Fire. دخل النار
. Thus, this knowledge, even if it is correct in itself, does not yield the expected fruit in the heart of its possessor, because the sincerity that is the foundation of every righteous deed was not present in this beneficial knowledge. So the problem is difficult, and very difficult indeed, and we seek help from Allah.

The questioner : A suggestion that may find acceptance with you, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : I say: I propose a suggestion that may find acceptance with you.

The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner : By the grace of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and I do not declare anyone pure before Allah, your words may be heard by many students of knowledge. I do not say in this country only, but perhaps in many of the lands of the Muslims. If you were to, for example, direct a word to your brothers, the students of knowledge, to be, for example, a strong barrier against such calls, and for there to be studies among them—not individual, but joint studies—whose purpose is to gather such ideas that are spreading now, and the deviations in this area specifically. Then they are gathered and presented to you, and you may, if Allah wills, record them, just to save time for you and for them. And this spreads, becoming a support for the idea... in this field.

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you with good, and I hope that Allah will grant me success in doing what He loves and is pleased with.

The questioner: Amen.

The Shaykh : If Allah wills.
Yes.
