Is it permissible for a teacher of young boys to hit them for the sake of studying?

The questioner : I work as a teacher in elementary and middle school. The students these days, if you hit them,The student : they study, and if you do not hit them, they do not study. Does Islam permit hitting on the hands, the back of the head, or the legs? For the benefit of the students?

The Shaykh : How old are they?

The questioner : From ten to fourteen years old.

The Shaykh : Of course, it is permissible.

The questioner : Is it permissible if we feel that hitting them makes them take it into account and start studying, and if the hitting is lightened, they do not study?

The Shaykh : Fine, do they allow you to do that?

The questioner : We mean, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh : It is an administrative action.

The questioner : No, by Allah, it is a personal action, but we have been accustomed to this matter for several years.
